In the shocking case of 26-year-old Nikki’s death in Greater Noida over dowry demands, police have arrested her father-in-law Satveer (55) and brother-in-law Rohit (28). The two were picked up early Monday morning near the Sirsa toll crossing after being on the run since Nikki was allegedly set on fire.

Nikki’s husband Vipin Bhati, his elder brother Rohit, and her parents-in-law were all named in the FIR. With these fresh arrests, all four accused are now in police custody.

On Sunday, police had already arrested the husband Vipin and mother-in-law Daya. The case was registered on August 22 at Kasna police station under sections 103(1) (murder), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), and 61(2) (attempt to commit a crime punishable with life imprisonment or other severe punishment) of the Indian Justice Code.

Meanwhile, the National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken note of the incident. In a statement from New Delhi on August 25, the Commission urged the Uttar Pradesh Police to ensure immediate arrest of all those involved and to take strict action without delay.
